ATTENTION: HUSBANDS WHO FORGOT VALENTINES DAY

ATTENTION: HUSBANDS WHO FORGOT VALENTINE'S DAY!
YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!
Kidding.
Sort of.

Recently in a Saturday Night Live Skit we witnessed something that made women everywhere say "IM NOT THE ONLY ONE!" I'm referring to the skit called DUMB LITTLE THINGS FROM CVS. It was hysterical because it described what my husband has done for every holiday ever since he met me. He forgets every holiday EVER until midnight the night before, then rushes to the closest drug store for something he thinks will pass as a thoughtful gift.
I can see through the kitchen timers and post-it notes though.

But Men! Here's you're chance to redeem yourself! Instead of rushing to CVS or wherever your go-to for last minute gifts is.... COME TO LOLLIE'S!
I will be working tomorrow morning and will be more than happy to help you out with a gift that says thoughtful and sweet.

We have a nifty little sale rack with pre-wrapped gifts for a super quick trip at wonderful prices.

Then we've got your classic jewelry and candles.

And here's some all-age appropriate gifts because girls of any age are likely to need a pony tail holder that doesn't leave  creases and looks adorable - or a bracelet that will literally go with anything in any closet ever.

OR! If you are dealing with a hair product junky, a super fashionista, or anyone interested in Bumble&Bumble products here's where to look! These two products are the dynamic duo for this warm weather coming up ( I hope ). City swept is new to our shelves and surf spray is an old faithful - Both will be a satisfying Valentine's gift.

All of the above products are wonderful and would make your lady happy as an un-dug clam. But here is the elite of the Valentines Day gifts:

LaLicious is GOLDEN! I promise!
So is a Lollie's gift card.

Whatever you decide will be fine I'm sure....
But come to LOLLIE'S for guaranteed success.
Just do your best to rise above the Saturday Night Live skit.

See you soon Husbands!

Daddy Daughter Dance 2014

I think I can safely speak for all the Lollie's Ladies when I say that WE HAD SO MUCH FUN THIS YEAR! We got to see so many sweet little girls and spend time primping and pampering them and it was so fun!
I really love when we do events like this because it involves lots of planning (I love planning) and decorating (I love decorating) and coordinating everything into one wonderful day of terrific (I love that too).
Here's a little look at our set up:

Days like these really make me happy. I love the busy atmosphere with lots of chit-chatting and giggles. I love to see all the curls and updo's. I love the sassy poses and silly smiles. I wish I had something like this when I was a little girl.
Here's some of the sweetest faces I've ever seen.

Check out Lollie's Facebook Page for all the pictures!
Thanks to all the wonderful little clients, thanks to the many mom's for scheduling with us. And thanks to all the wonderful Dad's who took their sweet daughters out for a special night!

See you soon!

awful

Awful.
That's what I am.
Really, it's true.

I have so many pictures of so many things that we've been doing at Lollie's and I just have failed to put them up anywhere. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter - you name it - I've forgotten it.

I am blaming the wacky weather... for lack of any other excuse.

But I came into work today and got SUPER excited because I saw NEW displays and NEW products and NEW decorations!

Tomorrow is the infamous DADDY DAUGHTER DANCE and we are SO READY! We'll be offering cascading curls, mini-mani's, shimmer, gloss, and treat bags galore!
And, of course, a photo shoot.

So expect a huge update shortly.

For now, oogle over these sweet little goodies we have and come see us! Tomorrow we'll have lots of super cute models hanging out with us too!

See you soon!

New Year New Me

2013 kicked my hiney!
I am ready to put the past behind me, eliminate the exasperating events of last year from my mind and embrace the new year happily.

And with a new look too!

And guess what? I’m not the only one!
Meet my Mom:

(our not so glamorous before's)

On Thursday my lovely Mother and I got our hair chopped off by the sweet Dawna Tate! A New look for a New Year! My mama took off about 6 inches of length and I took off about 4!

(our much better looking afters)

The sweet lady scheduled after us got a sassy new look and donated her hair to ‘locks of love’!

 (before)
 (after)

Which got me to wondering about the specific requirements about hair donations to ‘locks of love’ – so if you were curious too here’s the info direct from the website:

  • Hair that is colored or permed is acceptable.
  • Hair cut years ago is usable if it has been stored in a ponytail or braid.
  • Hair that has been bleached (usually this refers to highlighted hair) is not usable.  If unsure, ask your stylist. We are not able to accept bleached hair due to a chemical reaction that occurs during the manufacturing process. **If the hair was bleached years ago and has completely grown out it is fine to donate.
  • Hair that is swept off of the floor is not usable because it is not bundled in a ponytail or braid.
  • Hair that is shaved off and not in a ponytail or braid is not usable. If shaving your head, first divide hair into multiple ponytails to cut off.
  • We cannot accept dreadlocks. Our manufacturer is not able to use them in our children’s hairpieces. We also cannot accept wigs, falls, hair extensions or synthetic hair.
  • Layered hair is acceptable if the longest layer is 10 inches.
  • Layered hair may be divided into multiple ponytails.
  • Curly hair may be pulled straight to measure the minimum 10 inches.
  • 10 inches measured tip to tip is the minimum length needed for a hairpiece.
If that didn’t answer all your questions here’s a link to their website:  http://www.locksoflove.org

So if you’re ready for a New Look to start of this New Year come in and see us! And if you’re interested, we’d be glad to assist in your donation to “locks of love”!

Happy 2014! See you soon!

Miss Me?

Miss Me?

I'm back in the great state of OKLAHOMA! And I am soooo glad to be back. I'm done with family drama and back to my busy, happy, Accidental-Southern-Girl life. Had a great (and stressful time) at home but I'm ready to be back at Lollie's... pronto... as soon as the snow clears off.

While in Oregon:

* I used my surf spray and thickening spray the most.
* I used the reactivating mist a few times too
* I dont recall using hairspray - because I got enough hold with the surf/thickening sprays
* I wore my LaBellaDonna lips every day (red lips = major confidence booster).
* And I used my Blinc Mascara every single day.
* Oh and I used a cute headband/earwarmer (whatever way you look at it) that I got at Lollie's last winter a whole bunch due to the fact that I was outside every single day and it was friggin cold - but not as cold as it is here right now.

And for family pictures (family not pictured here obviously) I did curl my hair a little... but then didn't like the curls so I sprayed surf spray on top of them and scrunched and "ta-da".

So - after the snow clears up a bit here in OK and I can make it to my truck without falling on my hiney, and I can back out of the driveway without fear of running into something, and i can make the drive to Lollie's without fear for my life .... that's when I will see you!

So, hopefully, see you soon!

What to Pack?

As I stated in my previous post, I am not from Oklahoma. I am an Oregonian to the core. Ask me if I have webbed feet! ;-)

Anyways – I will be taking a month long trip home, with my family, and I am starting to stock up on goodies to take with me.
Here’s what I have so far:

Thickening Serum and Thickening Spray.
I just had a beautiful baby girl in April! And in exchange for her sweetness, I had to loose my hair I guess. My hair has never been this thin before in my entire life due to these wacky hormones! So over the last month I have been using the Thickening Serum religiously and I’m actually beginning to notice my hair feeling a little thicker, a little stronger, and I don’t know if this is coincidence or the product – but my hair loss has recently decreased greatly.
I use Thickening Spray all over (roots to ends) to give my hair a thicker, fuller look and feel. It’s safe to say that the Thickening Spray has been our best selling product for years and it truly helps those of us who have fine or thinning strands feel better about ourselves.

Also – I’ve packed up some Tonic and Brilliantine.
Tonic is my favorite thing ever. It’s lighter than water so it doesn’t weigh your hair down at all, yet conditions my hair and prepares it for any product I will be using. But, really, the main reason why I love it is the smell. It’s loaded with peppermint and rosemary and tea tree and lemon grass – BAM! All my favorite scents packed in one little bottle of bliss. Also, recently, I read an article about how peppermint and rosemary oils are supposed to boost hair growth – wether you believe that or not it’s worth a try right? Tonic nurtures the scalp – and a healthy scalp means healthy hair, which provides potential for lots of hair growth, right?
Brilliantine is my go to for a little shine and a little frizz control while still maintaining my messy hair looks. I will be using this every single day while I am home. Fact. On my natural curls, my straight hair looks, and on my curling iron curls - This is my “security blanket” of a product. I am madly in love with Brilliantine. Fact.

I’ve also snatched up some Curl Reactivating Mist and a Curl Conscious Nourishing Masque.
I have recently been experimenting with the Curl products and I am, again, a big fan. In April, when I had “Baby Sister” I brought Curl Conscious samples with me to the hospital – and let me tell you, I was feelin’ pretty darn good lookin’ in those new-mom-again photos.
At home, because we will probably be on the go most of the time, I’m planning on my natural curl being my main look. Partially because I am expecting (and hoping) it to rain the entire time I am home and I don’t want to be constantly fighting the rain to keep my hair how I want it (true Oregonians don’t use umbrellas haha!).
The Curl Reactivating Mist is something I will be keeping in my purse for a lift me up on my curls. It’s great for a next-day revival or just a touch up on limp waves. There’s a little hold – not enough to make me feel like I have too many products in my hair but just enough to provide me some security when my curls are feeling less that luscious.
The Curl Masque smells devine. And it provides the perfect moisture I need to maintain my curls.  So I am excited for this little bit of luxury that I’ll be bringing with me.

Texture is my go-to for curl-making! It amplifies my messy curly hair and helps me achieve the curl I want with no effort – unless you count applying the product.
My Mom is a Crème De Coco fanatic so I will be using her supply of shampoo and conditioner while I’m there.

I’m also bringing my La Bella Donna Anti-aging Hydrating Mineral Mystique. It’s a mineral concealer, allergen-free and perfect for covering up and enriching my flaws with minerals and vitamins.
And my La Bella Donna Scarlett Lip Pencil. It’s super soft, and my favorite shade of red.

And now I’m going to see if I can pack all this, and my clothes, and Lollie’s Accessories, and all the Baby stuff, and all the junk I feel like I have to bring! Wish my luck! I’m going to need it!

See you soon!
(until I leave for my vacation!)
